DIPSET "S CAM "RON STIRS UP THE MAC, "WE WANNA DO SOME SOULFUL HIP-HOP SH*T"
A
Dipset reunion album may be not be the only new music from Diplomat Cam "ron
on the hip-hop horizon, as Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller has announced plans
to drop a joint project alongside Killa.
Although there is no current timeline to chronicle when it will fully materialize,
Miller said records have already begun piling up.
"Me and Cam are actually talking about doing a project together,"
Mac told XXLMag.com. "We don "t know when we "re gonna do it. We have three
or four songs recorded already. We "re working on more at this point. ... We "re
two funny guys. We cut up a lot in the studio, and have a good time and make
some dope music. I think the cool thing is that it "s an unexpected collaboration
that actually turned out dope. We wanna do some soulful hip-hop sh*t, while
also making some hard sh*t and some fun music. [We "re] making sure that we do
it in a way that "s different than other people who have done projects together.
It "s still in the brainstorming stage, but we definitely have some dope records
done. He "s got a lot of knowledge in that he "s schooling me on." (XXL Mag)
Earlier this month, Miller and Killa dropped their new "Dig That"
collaboration.
An odd couple deserves an equally odd cover. Mac Miller "s still living
life in the fast lane since Blue Slide Park made history, and after several
months of alluding to studio sessions with Killa Cam, the result has finally
crash landed on the world wide web. With a subdued instrumental mellow enough
to compliment King Jaffe Joe "s exploits of random women and Mac "s dream chasing,
the Big Jerm-produced "Dig That" is actually quite impressive. The
weather across the country appears to warmer than usual, so take the opportunity
to let this command the sound system in the whip and ride out. You know that "s
the best way to judge music anyway. I "d go so far as to say I "d like to hear
more music from the two. Then again, Cam can do no wrong in my book. (Smoking

Last summer, Dipset "s Jim Jones revealed a joint LP with Cam being in the
works.
"It "s a grinding process. I think me and Killa "s Fly Boy album will
come out right before the Diplomat album," Jones revealed in an interview
referring to him and Cam "ron. "It "s an album that we set out to do years
ago when we first started the Diplomat movement and we was setting up the different
albums that we were doing under Diplomat Records." (Invasion Radio)
West Coast rapper Nipsey Hussle recently co-signed Miller "s music grind.
"You know Mac Miller he a cool cat and I had been conscious of what
he was doing from a distance. But I was walking through the mall or something
or the airport one day and I see a Billboard [magazine] [...] I see who "s on
the cover of the Billboard and it was Mac Miller, and me knowing him as being
independent and not having a huge radio presence, that was big to me [...] when
I saw that I twipic "d it and I put it on Twitter," Nipsey explained. "I
just gave him his props on that and was just like "That "s big. " You know, it "s
a sign of the times that we living in and you know he hollered back. ... It
was you know just kicking it and played some music and all that and was just
talking about the industry and I was just telling him how I really respect what
he "s doing and it "s motivation for an artist like myself that "s doing it independent
right now to see somebody even before he put out a No. 1 album he was... so
I just wanted to give him his props on that... so he "s cool and we hit it off
and knocked a couple records out." (BET)
