Rappers Ice Cube and Bow Wow have joined forces to create a new
television sitcom. Bow Wow will star as one of the actors in the show and Ice
Cube will be behind the scenes serving as the director.
Bow Wow’s acting career has really taken off in the last couple of years.
He is currently starring in Tyler Perry’s newest movie, “Madea’s
Big Happy Family,” which is scheduled to hit the big screen on April 22,
2011. In the movie, Bow Wow plays the role of Bryon, who is trying to live a
straight life after serving time in jail.
Bow Wow also has had several acting roles in other well-known movies such as
“Fast and Furious- Tokyo Drift,” “Roll Bounce,” “All
About the Benjamins” and “Lottery Ticket.” Ice Cube produced
and directed both “All About the Benjamins,” and “Lottery
Ticket.”
Bow Wow is also bringing in his mentor Rapper/Producer Jermaine Dupri, who
will create all of the music for the television show.
At this time, the name of the show has not been determined. The creators are
in the process of seeking writers along with future actors for the show.
Although Ice Cube is still producing his rap music, he has been an actor and
directing movies for over 20 years. One of his first well-known roles was in
the hit John Singleton film “Boyz n the Hood” as Doughboy. He later
went on to write and star in the hit movie “Friday” and its two
sequels “Next Friday” and “Friday After Next.”
He also produced the hit movies “Are We There Yet?” and “Are
We Done Yet?” Due to the success of these two movies, he created the sitcom
“Are We There Yet,” which airs on the television station TBS.
In addition to Bow Wow project, Ice Cube is working a new project to remake
the hit FOX television show “21 Jump Street.”
