Nas Readies for new LP and Documentary

For the hip-hop heads salivating at the ears to hear new music from one of the greats, the wait is almost over. Queensbridge’s own, Nas announced he’s putting the finishing touches on a new album, set for release this summer.

During a gig at Orlando’s Vain Nightclub, Mr. Jones offered a bit of sage advice to club goers before making the announcement.

Nas’ new album will follow 2012’s Life is Good, which featured guest spots from the late Amy Winehouse as well as R&B crooner Miguel, Anthony Hamilton and MMG’s Rick Ross.

Last year, the 41 year old (who still looks like he’s 16) celebrated the 20th anniversary of Illmatic with the release of Illmatic XX and the Erik Parker directed documentary, Nas: Time Is Illmatic.

While God’s son isn’t giving away too many hints about the direction of his new LP, he’s is stepping out of the booth to act as executive producer of his new break dancing documentary, Shake The Dust, available on iTunes May 19. The doc follows young children and teens from places like Yemen to Uganda to show the culturalimpact of break dancing.
