Erick Sermon has Something for Fans

I have a solo album coming out and it’s called ESPErick Sermon’s Perspectiveand I felt good. I felt good doing these records and people have been calling for it.

Everybody has been asking for it. We all have fans. No matter what type of artist you are, you have fans. You’re not here without them. Big Sean said one time, “I don’t make records for everybody. I make records for me which are people like me.”

I make records for me and that’s what my fans like. If the masses get it, then they get it. I’m not here for something. I’m already me.

Let me, as a veteran, co-sign what people like Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole are doing.

This is from the fans’ calling. So when I was sitting there, I felt good and called up my friends. I got myself, Sheek Louch, Mary J. Blige, Fred the Godson, Joell Ortiz, Too $hort and we just made some good music.

Don’t forget, our age group still likes music but there’s no one out here for them to listen to. Just because we’re older doesn’t mean we stopped liking hip-hop and R&B. We’re just too old to go and buy that new music.

I want to get that voice for those asking, “When is someone going to come out for people like us?” So that’s why I’m coming out.
