Ice-T
and Chubb Rock will serve as the new spokesmen for a new of a non-profit organization
dedicated to raising awareness about healthy lifestyle choices for males, specifically
fans of Hip-Hop music.
The Male Awareness Foundation was founded by Ice-T and Chubb
Rock, along with veteran music manager Mickey Bentson, his wife, Toya Bentson
and Dr. Annie Ford.
The rappers’ new foundation is encouraging males of all
ages to get screenings for a variety of cancers, including testicular, colon,
pancreatic, oral and other forms of the disease.
“Help our communities achieve the highest attainable level
of health through education, awareness, and prevention,” said Male Awareness
Foundation Co-Founder Mickey Bentson said. “A lot of issues can be addressed
with early detection. Our mission is to encourage everyone to get screened on
a regular basis.”
The Male Awareness Foundation plans to start promotions with
a Mobile Clinic that will stop in New England, Connecticut, New York and New
Jersey, with plans to expand nationwide.
