Critics have proclaimed the 1988 released "Critical Beatdown" as a classic album of hip hop "s "golden age", having influenced artists such as Public Enemy, more so gangsta rap in general, and several generations of underground hip hop artists, even laying the foundation for producers like Dilla and Madlib with their innovative sampling techniques. "Critical Beatdown" was unmatched in originality and ferocity, deserving nothing less than a world widely celebrated anniversary.
