Rap veteran Nas recently discussed his take on female hip-hop artists trying to make a name for themselves in a predominantly male culture and what it will take for them to really shine.
Although impressed by today "s female emcees, Nas said there is too much emphasis on them weighing themselves to their male counterparts.
"I like Azealia Banks, I like Nicki [Minaj]. Those are the girls that are currently in the game," Nas said in an interview. "It is women "s time but women are under the illusion that they "re being blocked, so women have to stop playing man "s game when it comes to the artistic sh*t. They have to just go and do it. Stop worrying about where you fit in. Just go and do it." (Huck Magazine)
