Jay-Z takes the subway to his final show at the Barclays Center, and Beyonce joins him onstage

The Brooklyn-native surprised fans when he hopped on a Brooklyn-bound R train Saturday afternoon.

Jay-Z got to his final concert at the city’s newest arena by taking one of New York’s oldest rides: the R train.

The Bed-Stuy-born star surprised city straphangers Saturday when he walked into the Canal Street station at around 6 p.m.

Escorted by plainclothes police officers and his own security, Hova didn "t seem to pay for the ride and attracted a loud band of followers that made him look like the Pied Piper, a source who followed Jay-Z told the Daily News.

On the platform, the rapper waited for one train to pass before getting onto the Brooklyn-bound R.

On the commute, Jay was surrounded by photo-snapping fans and even struck up small talk sitting by an older woman, who looked happy to see him.

When he got to Atlantic Ave., Jay-Z breezed through the turnstiles, crossed a red light, and temporarily stopped traffic.

Crowds lining up for the show started screaming the minute they saw him, a source said.

Saturday night "s show was the last of eight concerts the rapper performed this week at the Barclays Center. And unlike the previous shows, Jay-Z was joined onstage by his wife Beyonce for their 2003 duet “Crazy in Love” during the middle of the show and "Young Forever" at the end.

The 18,200-person arena - now the most high-tech in the city - has been sold out all week.

Anyone who couldn "t get a spot inside could watch the show for free on Jay-Z "s new YouTube channel. The live-stream was hosted on Jay-Z "s Life and Times channel.
