Hamilton and Grease: Live director Thomas Kail and rapper-actor-producerCommon have teamed with How to Make It in America creator Ian Edelman for 93 Til Infinity, a single-camera buddy comedy, which has received a script commitment plus penalty at Fox. 20th Century Fox TV is the studio.

Written by Edelman based on an original idea, 93 til Infinity centers on a prolific (black) rapper from the 90’s, struggling in present day to figure out the next chapter of his life, who reconnects with his (white) best friend from middle school, struggling with family and real responsibilities, equally desperate for a midlife reboot.

Edelman, Kail and Common executive produce alongside Danielle Sanchez-Witzel who will serve as showrunner on a non-exclusive basis as she is executive producer/showrunner on the NBC/20th TV/Uni TV comedy series The Carmichael Show. Also executive producing the project are Tom Lassally, Jonathan Berry, Shelby Stone, Derek Dudley for Common’s Freedom Road Productions, Kail’s Old 320 Sycamore and 3 Arts in association with 20th TV.

93 Til Infinity stems from Edelman’s blind script deal at 20th TV where Kail and Sanchez-Witzel have overall pacts. Kail is coming off a Tony win forHamilton and an Emmy for Grease: Live. He is repped by WME.

Common, recently seen in Suicide Squad andBarbershop: The Next Cut, won an Oscar for co-writing the song Glory from Selma. He  is repped by CAA and attorney David Fox.

Edelman, who also co-wrote and directed the film Puerto Ricans In Paris, and Sanchez-Witzel, whose credits also include New Girl and My Name Is Earl, are repped by UTA.
