Rapper Queen Latifah will be honored during the reboot of VH1’s “Hip Hop Honors,” which will pay homage to the female trailblazers of the genre.
The “VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail The Queens” event will hail the Queen, who earned one Grammy Award for Best Solo Rap Performance in 1994, while being nominated for another six.
As an actress, Latifah has had roles in groundbreaking movies like “Set It Off,” “Bessie,” “The Secret Life of Bees,” “Hairspray,” “Beauty Shop” and others.
Queen Latifah, who is also executive producer of the “All Hail The Queens” event for VH1, is the first of several influential female rappers who will be announced later this week.
The VH1 “Hip Hop Honors: All Hail The Queens” airs Monday, July 11th at 9PM ET LIVE from New York.
