The mother of the late rap legend was cremated in Marin County, Calif., after her death from an apparent heart attack May 2.

Her death certificate listed the final disposition of her ashes as her address in California, a Marin County official confirmed to The News.

It's not clear if some or all of her ashes will be taken back to North Carolina.

Her body was claimed by Gust Davis, the estranged husband she was trying to divorce.

Shakur, 69, was separated from Davis when she fell ill on her houseboat in Sausalito, Calif.

Her daughter and a friend were present when paramedics arrived to rush her to a local hospital, where she died, sources said.

Her former publicist George Pryce told The News that Shakur contacted him three days before her death with a mysterious request to see him.

'Afeni called me and told me she had something very important to tell me, and that if I couldn't come up to Sausalito in the next few days that she would come down to Los Angeles to see me,” he said.

“I have no idea what she wanted to discuss with me. I was preparing to go up there when I got the call late that Sunday night that she had died at the hospital after being found unresponsive at home.'

'She was not only my client, but became a dear friend,” he added. “I actually met her in Washington, D.C., before I met Tupac. We traveled to London, New York and many other places together. I will always wonder what was on her mind that week. May she rest in peace.”
