'This is a Revolution,' the Roots drummer says
Like so many other music and theater fans, Questlove just had his mind blown by Hamilton.
The Roots drummer and co-frontman, who executive-produced the Broadway show’s cast album, took to Instagram on Wednesday to celebrate the recording going gold.
Posting a photo of the cast surrounding creator, writer, and star Lin-Manuel Miranda, Questlove wrote, “Man this is mind blowing. This is a Revolution. Just wow man. Wow.”
The hip-hop musical about the real life of the titular founding father has crossed over from Broadway hit to genuine mainstream phenomenon, with the cast recording breaking Billboard chart records and winning a Grammy.
Questlove and Miranda are also reteaming on The Hamilton Mixtape.
