50 Cent Inks Overall Deal With Starz

On the heels of the success of Starz’s drama Power, the series’ executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is expanding his relationship with the pay cable network, signing an exclusive two-year overall deal to develop new projects while continuing as an exec producer on Power.

“Starz has been the perfect partner tomake Power the success that it is and I am looking forward to developing many more record-breaking series with them,” says Jackson.

Power 3

Power season two averaged more than 6.8 million viewers per episode, on track to become the most watched season ever for a Starz original series, according to the network. The August 15 Power second season finale set a new Starz series record with 2.39M viewers in Live+3, besting the previous week’s record-setting audience (2.29M for episode 209).

Production on the 10-episode third season of New York-based Power began this month at the series’ home base at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn. Creator, executive producer and showrunner Courtney Kemp Agboh is back for Season 3 alongside Jackson and fellow EPs Mark Canton, Randall Emmett and Gary Lennon.

“Curtis is a wonderful hands-on producer and actor on Power and we look forward to expanding his roles behind-the-camera with Starz over the next two years,” said Carmi Zlotnik, managing director of Starz.

Power is a valuable property for Starz, which owns all global distribution and home entertainment rights to the series, sold in more than 175 countries/territories worldwide.

Jackson is repped by APA and attorneys Stephen Savva and Eric Feig.
