Atlanta native, Grammy Award-winning producer and hip-hop artist Jermaine Dupriwill visit Georgia Tech March 26 to talk with student entrepreneurs at the Scheller College of Business.
Dupri is founder and CEO of Atlanta-based So So Def Recordings. He has written songs or produced albums with artists such as Mariah Carey, Will Smith, Usher, Ludacris, Lil’ Jon, TLC, Bow Wow, Jay-Z,Janet Jackson, Monica, Nelly and Bone-Thugs-n-Harmony.
Dupri told Atlanta Business Chronicle in September 2014 that he became a recognized industry leader because he put in the work.
'I do what I got to do to make sure I can become who I am, Dupri said.' I stay on top of my work. You got to do the work. I know for me that’s the only thing I thought would propel me. I had to outwork everybody.'
In addition to his musical career, Dupri launched a new website and social networking community called Global 14 in 2011. The website was designed and developed by Dupri to be the “coolest, hippest city” on the web.
Cory Levy, co-founder and chief operating officer of the mobile application ONE, adviser to about.me and founder of Internapalooza, will also be speaking at the event.
