Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn scores $450k funding goal

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn has managed to beat its crowd-funding goal on the campaign "s final day and secure a release for PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Wii U.

Basketball legend Shaquille O "Neal and developer Big Deez Productions asked for $450,000 (£260k) in donations to help develop the bizarre beat- "em-up sequel.

The game "s Indiegogo campaign hit its target last night with just hours to spare, and after a couple of last-minute perks were added (someone donated $4000 to have lunch and a game of basketball at Shaq "s house).

Six people paid $250 to receive a personalised voicemail from Shaq, while another person paid $20,000 to eat a meal with Shaq at a local restaurant (he "ll even pick up the tab).

Think that "s expensive? Someone paid $35,000 for Shaq to travel to their party and play a DJ set (plus get a copy of the game, t-shirt and poster).

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn has done well to be funded - this time last month it had raised just $140k at the campaign "s mid-point.

The game will be a re-make of the universally panned 1994 original, which saw Shaq take on demons and mummies in an alternate version of Japan. "This time we won "t FU it up!", the campaign has promised.
