The Voice has officially welcomed its newest voice coach, Pharrell Williams. The celebrated 40-year-old artist will be joining the NBC television series for its seventh season, though this doesn "t mark his first time on the show. Pharrell served as a mentor for coach Usher during the fourth season. Now, Pharrell gets to take his place in the big red seat.
Current voice coaches are Blake Shelton and Adam Levine—who have been featured on the show since it debuted in 2011—as well as returning coaches Shakira and Usher. Pharrell replaces CeeLo Green, who announced last month that he would not be returning to the show after spending four seasons as a coach. The other three voice coaches for season seven have yet to be announced, though it "s fair to guess Shelton and Levine will be in the mix again.
The Voice revealed the news on Twitter, to which Pharrell replied, "This is going to be so fun."
