PHARRELL TO PERFORM AT 86TH ACADEMY AWARDS

Just when you thought the Year of Pharrell was capped by his recent takeover at the Grammy Awards, which found the producer winning Producer Of The Year on his own, as well as Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance alongside Daft Punk, Pharrell is showing no signs of slowing down in 2014.

Announced this morning, Pharrell will followup his stunning Grammys performance with the robots, Stevie Wonder, and Nile Rodgers, with a solo performance of his own at this year "s Oscars. At the venerated award show, Williams will take the stage to deliver a live rendition of "Happy," from Despicable Me 2, for which he "s nominated for Best Original Song.

After Eminem, who won the award for 8 Mile "s "Lose Yourself" in 2002, Pharrell would be the second solo hip-hop act ever to win the coveted prize. And really, with the Oscars - which has hired Skateboard P as one of its music consultants in the past - asking Williams to perform, he "s all but a shoo-in for this year "s Best Original Song win.

Earlier this year, P released the first-ever 24-hour music video for "Happy," which featured appearances from Tyler, The Creator, Travie McCoy, Steve Carrell, Magic Johnson, and plenty more, as they danced giddily along to his infectious tune.
